UROP at RWTH Aachen University
UROP International will give participants the chance to work closely with faculty on new research projects while also broadening their cultural horizons through German language instruction, activities, and excursions.

Host Institution: |
RWTH Aachen University: a research-oriented university located in west-central Germany, near Belgium and the Netherlands. The German Science Council and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft pronounced RWTH Aachen University among the winners of the Excellence Initiative of federal and state governments. |

Admissions: |
Participants must be enrolled at a U.S. or Canadian university, have completed at least two years of their degree program, and still have undergraduate status upon return. |

Program Schedule: |
Weeks 1 & 2: The program starts with a two week intensive language course in German as well as an introduction to German. Weeks 3 - 10: Students focus on their research internships and continue to learn German. Cultural and leisure activities are offered throughout the program to ensure exposure to German culture and the campus community. |

Research Projects: |
RWTH Aachen runs a project database with an online list of research projects. Students can register online or enter their own research proposal and might be contacted by staff at RWTH Aachen University. |

Language: |
Students do not need to know any German prior to the beginning of the program, unless otherwise noted in the individual projects descriptions. |
