Mini-Conference

Dear Friends,

We invite you to participate in the inaugural Cornell Engineering Alumni Association Mini-Conference "At the Leading Edge: Improving Lives Through Biomedical Engineering" on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.

This mini-conference will feature two of Cornell’s outstanding faculty: Claudia Fischbach-Teschl, assistant professor of biomedical engineering in the College of Engineering, and C.C. Chu, the Rebecca Q. Morgan ’60 Professor of Fiber Science and Apparel Design in the College of Human Ecology. They will be joined by Cornell alumnus and trustee David R. Fischell ’75, MS ’78, PhD ’80, an entrepreneur who is the founder of nine biomedical device companies.

Topics will focus on the impact of biomedical research and collaboration, as well as the opportunities for tech transfer and new business start-ups. There also will be plenty of time for social interaction and networking among panelists and invited guests. The complete agenda is available online.

A $30 fee includes a reception, networking, and presentations. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register online by November 1, 2009.

With best wishes,

Christopher Ober
