What is your full name?  Cecilia Guadalupe Turcios

Where is your hometown?  Alexandria, Virginia

What year of college are you in?   Junior

What is your major/field?  Chemical Engineering

Do you have any siblings and if so how many?  I am the youngest of e. I have a brother and a sister.

Do you have any pets and if so, what kinds and what are their names? 2 Silky Terriers (names Kika and Mili) and 1 Maltese (named Toby)

What are some of your hobbies?  Running (currently training for the half-marathon in Ithaca), baking, and playing video games

What is something you dream about doing in the future? I want to be able to travel to the World Cup in 2014

What is your favorite color?  Fuchsia

What is your favorite meal?  Pupusas (think tortillas stuffed with cheese) with Horchata (sweet rick milk drink)

Who is your favorite cartoon character and why?  Pikachu, because he's cute!

What is your favorite genre of music?  Latin music - salsa, merengue, bachata

What is your favorite film?  (500) Days of Summer

Who is one of your role models and why?  My mother - she has sacrificed so much for me to get to where I am today

What is the best thing about being a Cornell Engineer?  The sense of community here

If you could change any one thing, what would it be?  Bring legitimate Hispanic food to Ithaca!

What is your full name?  Ptah Plummer

Where is your hometown?  Harlem, NYC

What year of college are you in?   First Year Master of Engineering

What is your major/field?   Engineering Management

Do you have any siblings and if so how many? I have 4. (1 Brother, 3 Half Sisters)

Do you have any pets and if so, what kinds and what are their names?  NoPets

What are some of your hobbies? I enjoy exploring music. I can spend hours searching for forgotten gems, the obscure songs from my favorite artists that rarely or never get played on the radio. I still enjoy writing and playing basketball, but I've neglected both since my undergrad years.

What is something you dream about doing in the future?I dream about making education, particularly in STEM, cool and visibly rewarding, especially for youth from disadvantaged urban areas.

What is your favorite color?   All black everything, I like to wear it and my first car will most likely be black.

What is your favorite meal?   Hard question, I've had dishes I can't remember the name of, but just remember they were good. I can say there's nothing like a just right juicy steak, and with that, mashed potatoes and string beans.

Who is your favorite cartoon character and why?Uncle Ruckus from The Boondocks is an offensive character, yet he somehow manages to be likable.

What is your favorite genre of music?   Soul music (Marvin Gaye, The Isleys, Al Green, Etc.) I grew up on it thanks to my mother, but really appreciated it later on.

What is your favorite film?   Spike Lee's Malcolm X, it's extremely powerful and moving, yet it possesses humor, and the vices: sex, drugs, and violence, that honestly make a lot of films appealing.

Who is one of your role models and why?   My mother is my primary role model. I've realized through time how much I model myself after her. She's strong, positive, intelligent, and much appreciated by family, friends, coworkers, and the families she serves through social work. 

What is the best thing about being a Cornell Engineer? Nothing compares to knowing you are learning in one of the most academically challenging environments possible, and the feeling of excelling within that environment.

If you could change any one thing, what would it be? I would  positive job opportunities more financially appealing, and put big money in technology areas that really make the world better, more so than oil and investment banking.
