Attention Hosts: Please carefully read the following host guidelines. Then provide your electronic signature to indicate that you agree to abide by these guidelines.

DPE Host Guidelines
1. I will commit to being punctual during the hosting program and to helping my guest be on time for program events as well.

2. I will provide a safe and reasonably comfortable area of my room for my guest. (Clean floor space is fine, but residence hall lounges are not.)

3. I will make a reasonable effort to be available or make my room available for my guest so I do not leave my guest without a means of getting into my residence hall, especially at night. (You should give your roommate, RA, and/or the RA on duty permission to let your guest into your building and room.)

4. I will not ask my guest to enter any unauthorized private or commercial vehicle (van, cab, car, bus, etc.) during the hosting program. (Your guest and you may use the TCAT buses for transportation around campus, but you may not leave campus.)

5. I will not invite or take my guest to any events taking place at off-campus locations, including sorority, fraternity, and co-op houses. (You may take your guest on a brief walk through Collegetown. However, guests may not go into off-campus housing or any establishment that serves alcohol.)

6. I will not consume or serve alcohol or any other illegal/controlled substance to my guest or any other minor under the age of 21. I will discourage my guest from attending any event where alcohol will be served. Should my guest make an independent decision to attend such an event, I will make it known that I do not support such a decision and will notify an emergency contact person for the hosting program.

7. While I will be honest about my academics and personal experiences at Cornell, I will not use this opportunity to discourage enrollment at Cornell or to disparage students enrolled in other colleges at Cornell or at other universities my guest may be considering.

8. I will do my best to provide a positive experience for my guest and other prospective students participating in the hosting program.

I agree to abide by the host guidelines. I understand that failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in follow up action by the Diversity Programs in Engineering and Engineering Admissions Offices. Such actions may include but are not limited to not being permitted to host students in the future. In the case of any alcohol or drug violations, I understand that I may also be subject to university, local, state, and/or federal charges.
