Welcome to the Diversity Programs in Engineering Office!
The Diversity Programs in Engineering (DPE) office is responsible for fostering a vision of diversity appreciation reflective of the College of Engineering's strategic plan, which enables students from all backgrounds and cultures to thrive and succeed at Cornell. DPE provides an institutionalized approach for meeting the needs of students by coordinating and planning educational, professional development, and networking opportunities that enhance interaction and learning across groups. Through intentional programming and training, DPE assists the college in understanding, appreciating, and celebrating Cornell's rich cultural diversity. Our office continues to be a resource for students, educators, and employers as we strive to cultivate a culture of inclusiveness and excellence that will certainly establish the College of Engineering as a nationally recognized leader in bringing underrepresented minorities, women, and students from other underrepresented groups into the engineering profession. Our goal is to build a community within the college that motivates all students to do their best. We offer services and programs that include advising, leadership and professional development, guest speakers, networking, social events, and access to student organizations. Please stop by and visit with us. Our office is located in 146 Olin Hall - a place to seek advice on curriculum planning, look for a computerized study space (Olin, B-55), sort out personal or academic programs, celebrate a good score on an exam, or socialize with fellow engineering students. We would welcome the opportunity to meet or speak with you.
