Diversity Programs Office

Welcome to the Diversity Programs in Engineering Office!

The diverse nature of our campus is a pillar of Cornell Engineering. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected and the issues we face become more globally intertwined, Cornell Engineering's longstanding commitment to the development of a diverse community of students, faculty, researchers, and staff has become more vital than ever.

The College of Engineering has always defined diversity broadly, incorporating varying geographic, intellectual ethnic, cultural, academic, and social elements that make our world a more vibrant place. The college's commitment to a global view of diversity is an important element in ensuring that our teaching remains connected to real-world problems, our research remains relevant and cutting-edge, and our social composition includes a variety of voices, thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

The Diversity Programs in Engineering office provides a variety of services for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members. Some of our student services include academic, professional, and community development programming; academic and program advising; summer research opportunities; and networking programs with Corporate Partners and alumni. We are home to four of the most active student organizations (Society of Women Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society) on the Engineering Quad.  Additionally, we gather the college community together annually for a banquet to honor our students and faculty for their achievements, leadership, and contributions to diversity initiatives. We also serve our faculty members through annual conferences, strategic committees, and mentoring programs.

We invite you to browse our website and learn more about us and the important role we play in the College of Engineering. Our staff is here to assist you. If you have any questions about our programs and initiatives, or how we can help you, please do not hesitate to contact us!
