Computers are valuable tools and, as an engineering student, you’ll find yourself using them to communicate with professors and classmates, write papers, work on problem sets, access library material, and find out what’s happening on campus. The Engineering Office of Diversity Programs sponsors a student computer lab for our underrepresented minority engineering students. It’s a place where you can focus on your work and meet with other students. Located in B55 Olin Hall, the facility is state-of the art and available to you by key card 24 hours a day. Here’s what the computer lab offers:
- 16 Dell Precision Workstations with Pentium 4’s.
- Each computer has a standard suite of software including Office, Acrobat, Matlab, Dr Java, and CodeWarrior.
- The computers are networked together with access to the internet and lab printers.
- The computer lab is accessible 24 hours a day and has available locker space, tables, and study materials.
- Student monitors are available for technical assistance.
- The computer lab is also used for student organizational meetings.
- The computer lab is strictly for the use of the engineering students.
