The Diversity Programs in Engineering (DPE) office is responsible for fostering a vision of diversity appreciation reflective of the College of Engineering's strategic plan, which enables members from all backgrounds and cultures to thrive and succeed at Cornell. DPE provides an institutionalized approach for meeting the needs of opportunities that enhance interaction and learning across groups. We welcome you to explore our program offerings for a broad range of constituents as well as our current calendar of events.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE & MENTORING

First Fridays Dinners – a monthly professional development and networking event featuring corporate sponsors and other invited guests. Presentation topics for First Friday dinners include internship, employment, and research opportunities; strategies for academic, professional, and personal success; and preparation for graduate school.

Master Your Future (MYF) – a seminar series that highlights a variety of professional development topics relevant to the growth and success of undergraduate and graduate students.  Recent workshops include the following:

Lunch & Learn – a monthly community and professional development event that provides current students with the opportunity to engage with visiting Cornell Engineering alumni and other special guests.  These events provide alumni an informal atmosphere where they can share their personal and/or professional experiences with students. Employer Info Sessions – a professional development opportunity that provides undergraduate and graduate engineering students and opportunity to network with corporate, foundation, university, and government partners to learn about employment and research opportunities.

DPE Awards Banquet. Generous corporate and foundation sponsors provide funding for scholarships and awards, which are presented during the DPE Annual Awards Banquet. Students may apply for these awards during the spring semester.
