National Engineers Week Dinner

An Engineers Week dinner will be held Thursday at the Holiday Inn Arena, 2 Hawley St, Binghamton.
Registration will start at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at about 6:15 p.m.
The reservation deadline is Wednesday. To attend, call James Shurtleff at 785-6714 or e-mail jamesshurt@aol.com. The cost of the dinner is $30.
Engineers, students and faculty of local engineering and technical high schools, as well as the general public, are invited to attend the event, which is being held to celebrate National Engineers Week from Feb. 20 through 26.
The event is being presented by the Broome Area Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers and the Ithaca Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
A local Engineer of the Year will be named and the 2010-11 NYSSPE scholarship recipient will be honored.
Ken Hover, professor of civil and environmental engineering and Weiss Fellow at Cornell University, will discuss "Things I Learned while Pursuing a Career in Engineering."
