Olin Hall
Olin is the home of Engineering Advising (167 Olin), Registrar (158 Olin), Engineering Learning Initiatives (167 Olin), Diversity Programs in Engineering (146 Olin). You can pick up room rosters and fill out petitions, talk about engineering requirements, find tutoring information, get advice on affiliation, study abroad, and pre-med, and much more.
Carpenter Library
The engineering library is where you can find textbooks on course-reserve for your on-campus use. Borrow a book on course-reserve for up to two hours by asking for it at the front desk. Carpenter Library is also the home of the ACCEL computer lab. Note: Carpenter can get a little bit loud at times because engineering students often work on problem sets in groups. If quiet is what you seek, go to the stacks in Carpenter or take a trip to central campus to the more quiet libraries: Uris, Olin, and Kroch.
Computer Labs
The computer lab is a great place to do your homework and work on group projects. There are several CIT labs sprinkled throughout campus. In the Engineering Quad there’s the ACCEL lab on the 2nd floor in Carpenter Library, with 80 computers running Windows XP and Linux, and the CIT lab in Upson Hall.
Louie’s Lunch
This is a truck where you can grab lunch, dinner, or midnight snacks; it’s parked right across from Risley on North Campus. You can get shakes, burgers, sandwiches, lottery tickets (only if you’re over 18!), and even cash from their ATM machine. Check it out: .
Dairy Bar
This is on Tower Road by the Ag School, home of Cornell Ice Cream—and you can use your meal plan!
Pyramid Mall
Take the TCAT bus, route 30 or route 32, to the Pyramid Mall. It’s just north of North Campus. It’s no Mall of America: there’s no Express, J. Crew, or Banana Republic, but you can go to BonTon and the Dollar Store! Don’t worry, you can also find GAP, Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Eagle.
Commons
This is Downtown Ithaca, containing the life of the city. Take a bus; almost any bus will take you there. Consult the TCAT . Go shop, go eat, go have fun!
Collegetown
Most of the off-campus housing facilities are in Collegetown (also known as C-town). You can find a variety of restaurants that will satisfy your taste buds. Go to and select "Cornell." You will see that many restaurants in C-town participate in this online ordering Web site. Order online and find great discounts!
