This is a typical Co-op timeline. Talk with your academic advisor and Co-op staff if you would like to consider one of the alternate schedules. Co-op staff will guide you through the job-hunting process and keep in touch with you throughout your Co-op work experience to help ensure your success.
Sophomore Year
Fall Semester:
- Register for the program
- Have your résumé reviewed
- Sort through opportunities
- Prepare for interviews - with the help of workshops and practice sessions
- Consider the Global Fellows Program
January:
- Submit résumés for on-campus interviews
- Employers begin screening and pre-selecting candidates to interview
- Participate in a mock interview
February:
- Attend Student/Employer Networking Receptions
- Attend on-campus interviews
March/April:
- Receive offers and weigh your options (Co-op offers are coordinated through Engineering Co-op & Career Services)
- Accept an offer – most students accept offers by the end of March
May through August
- Co-op Summer Sessions I & II
- Take classes in the summer after sophomore year in order to graduate in four years
Junior Year
Fall Semester:
- First work term
(A spring semester work term is a possible alternative.)
Spring Semester:
- Return to school to take classes
Summer:
Senior Year
- Return to campus to complete your degree!
