Patrick Fulton, a professor at Cornell University, and a co-chief scientist for IODP Exp 405, talks about his involvement in IODP Exp 343 and the planning for 405 that came out of the science results from IODP Exp 343 and 343-T. Patrick was the driving force behind the observatory installations for JFAST and JTRACK.
