All graduating students earning a Bachelor, Master of Engineering (in both Civil Engineering and Engineering Management), Master of Science, or Ph.D. degree will be recognized during the ceremony and a class picture will be taken.
Date and Time
Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
If you read or hear on Saturday morning that the University’s first ceremony is delayed or cancelled for any reason, this will not effect our graduation ceremony. Graduates and their guests should arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. to find their seats in the Ramin Room. Our ceremony will start promptly at 10:00 a.m..
Ceremony Location
The Ramin Room of Bartels Hall is located at 554 Campus Road, Ithaca, NY 14853. Please refer to Cornell University: Office of Commencement Events regarding your best options for parking on campus.

Graduates are asked to let their respective program coordinators know how many guests will be attending by April 1.

The ceremony is held for students receiving the follow degrees:
- Ph.D. and M.S.
- M.Eng. in civil and environmental engineering
- M.Eng. in engineering management
- B.S. in civil engineering
- B.S. in environmental engineering

University Ceremony for College of Engineering, along with Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Computing and Information Science, Cornell Graduate School and Cornell Law School, degrees will be conferred.
Severe Weather Plan
If the forecast calls for light to moderate rain or hot and humid conditions, the University ceremonies will be held outside, as planned. Be prepared for any possible weather situation. Plan ahead and bring any accessories that you and your guests may need for the day, such as hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, umbrellas, or rain jackets/light coats.
In case of severe weather, such as heavy rains, high winds, or lightning, could pose a threat to public safety. If severe weather is expected, the university will post information to cornell.edu beginning at 7 a.m. on the day of the ceremony.
Depending on the nature of the weather, the university may delay the start of either of the ceremonies by up to one hour. However, in the event of severe weather, the ceremonies will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
