Biography

Dan Ward graduated from Cornell EAS in 2004 with a concentration in Atmospheric Science and earned a PhD in the same subject from Colorado State University in 2010. He then returned to Cornell as a postdoctoral associate to study atmospheric aerosols and their impacts on global climate. Following his time at Cornell, Dan moved to Princeton University where he continued similar lines of research, with an emphasis on biomass burning aerosols, at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. In 2017, Dan joined the Boston-based catastrophe modeling firm Karen Clark & Company, which supports industry, particularly the insurance industry, with risk models of atmospheric and seismic-related hazards. In his current role as Senior Director, Dan has led the incorporation of the impacts of climate change into the atmospheric hazard models.
