In addition to supporting hydrology programs at the 23 Weather Forecast Offices and 3 River Forecast Centers in Eastern Region, Emily has been involved in the transformation of the NWS hydrology website, as well as flood inundation mapping initiatives. She started her career as a stormwater design consultant in Syracuse, NY, and worked as a hydrologist for NYC Parks for four years before transitioning to her current role at NWS in October 2021. She holds a Ph.D. in ecological engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, as well as a B.S. in environmental engineering (CEE) from Cornell.

There is a great deal of exciting hydrology work being done at NWS, and I believe I bring a unique perspective to the Council through my work in public service and hydrologic focus.
