The information revolution has created a need for digital devices that support a wide range of data communication, computation, and storage requirements. Cornell Engineering is addressing this need through the development of secure, pervasive information systems. Ongoing research programs include adaptive sensing systems, high-performance/energy-aware computational platforms, networked communications, and distributed information storage and retrieval technologies. This research emphasizes systems that rapidly and securely move information to where it is needed, and give users the ability to cost-effectively process and exploit the information once it arrives.
