Our student employees welcome and direct students, employers, and visitors to appropriate resources; offer an invaluable student perspective needed to create effective programming and services, provide resume & cover letter reviews, practice interviews, practice coding interviews, and so much more!

Austin Brown

Austin Brown

College of Engineering ‘22

Austin is a Junior majoring in Information Science with a minor in Computer Science. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Austin transferred to Cornell from Arizona State University after doing 3 years in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Cornell University as a software development intern over the past summer and is continuing his work through the academic year. In his spare time, he watches YouTube, takes care of his hamster, and learns about history.



Eliz Celik

College of Engineering ‘25

Eliz is a Freshman in the College of Engineering and is planning to get her Phd in Biomedical Engineering. She was born and raised in North Jersey so is a 3.5 hour driving distance away. Over the summer, her hobbies consisted of walking and painting outside. She also loves to go on picnics, which is what Ithaca and Cornell is perfect for! She is currently a part of the POST program and hopes to continue volunteering through the Meinig Scholars Program as well.



Niamh Moore

College of Human Ecology '23

Niamh is a first-year graduate student studying Public Administration. Originally from Ireland, she moved to London, United Kingdom, to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology with a particular focus on political psychology. During the past year she has worked full time as the elected student union president of her university advocating to the University on behalf of students and supporting students through academic procedures. Niamh hopes to continue to volunteer in Ithaca and enjoys keeping fit and meeting new people.



Nidhi Maniar

College of Engineering ‘22

Nidhi is a Chemical Engineering MEng student wherein she plans to focus her work on Semiconductor Research and learn about Business. She is from Mumbai, India, and is gearing up for her first winter in Ithaca. After her undergrad, she worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for about 2-years as a Process engineer. She loves to paint and aspires to be a painting artist in the future. As she likes interacting with new people and helping them, she plans on joining student associations on-campus.




Myles Cherebin

Myles is a senior Electrical and Computer Engineering major from Syracuse, New York. He has spent the last two summers interning at SRC, Inc. and he was a software engineer intern this past summer. On campus, Myles is the External Vice-President of Cornell's National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) chapter and is also an active member of Underrepresented Minorities in Computing (URMC).  He also works with the Diversity Programs in Engineering office on the CU EMpower mentorship program.



Melissa Gao

Johnson College of Business, Dyson School ‘23

Melissa is a junior from New York City, majoring in Applied Economics and Management, concentrating in Finance and Environmental, Energy, & Resource Economics in the Dyson School. This past summer, she interned at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in its corporate group. On-campus, she is involved with Knit with Care and Beta Alpha Psi. She also enjoys badminton, baking/cooking, and outdoor activities.



Tristan Ryder

College of Arts & Sciences ‘24

Tristan is currently a sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences planning to major in Government.  He is from Prospect Heights, Brooklyn but has lived and gone to school all over New York City.  Over the summer, Tristan traveled to Barcelona and went to Belize as a part of a service trip where he helped to build a house. In his free time, Tristan is an avid reader who enjoys Tennis, pickup Basketball and still life sketching.



Kelly Ernst

Kelly is a senior studying Environmental Engineering with a minor in Inequality Studies. She is from Glastonbury, CT. Over the summer, she interned with CDM Smith’s Water Services Group in East Hartford, CT. On campus, Kelly is Sub-team Lead of the Domestic Sub-team of Engineers Without Borders, and she is an active member of Cornell Best Buddies. She is also a Cornell Tradition Fellow. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys listening to music, reading, and spending time outside.



Deniz Tekant

Deniz is a senior from Istanbul, Turkey in the College of Engineering majoring in Operations Research and minoring in Business, Data Science, and Fashion. On-campus, she is an active member of the Cornell Rocketry Team, Creme de Cornell, GreenClub, Society of Women Engineers and is conducting research on electrospinning nanofibers at the Functional Nanofibers Laboratory. She loves meeting new people, helping others, and is intellectually curious about various topics outside of ORIE. Outside of academics, she loves travelling, fostering cats for the cat cafe, baking, and going on adventures with friends.


Manya Walia

College of Engineering '22

Manya is a Senior from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, pursuing a major in Operations Research Engineering and a Dyson Business minor for engineers. On campus, she is a corporate officer for Cornell Association of Computer Science Undergraduates, engagement manager for the Cornell chapter of Consult Your Community, and a Kathak-fusion dancer in Cornell Nazaqat. She has also been a Code4Kids teaching facilitator at Belle Sherman School in Ithaca. Outside of school, Manya loves to enjoy spending time on the beach, discussing fun new recipes, and creating dance videos.


Grace Imanariyo

College of Engineering ‘22

Grace Imanariyo is currently pursuing the Engineering Management Graduate Program. Originally from Kigali, Rwanda, Grace was a Computer Science major at Muhlenberg College with a double minor focus in Mathematics and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. For the past year, Grace worked as an Enterprise Data Tech Representative at Bloomberg LP. In her free time, Grace enjoys playing instruments and meeting with people from all backgrounds.



Skyler Krouse

Skyler is currently a junior in the College of Engineering. She is born and raised in New Jersey, and is pursuing a major in Computer Science with a minor in Information Science. Skyler is the co-captain of the Color-Guard in the Big Red Marching Band, the President of the Cornell University Indoor Drumline, and a member of Women in Computing at Cornell. In her spare time, Skyler loves to read, crochet, and draw!



Akiko Kelley

College of Architecture, Art, and Planning '24

Akiko is a sophomore in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning and plans to major in Urban and Regional Studies with a double minor in Real Estate and Business. She is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and over the summer, she worked for the Engineering Career Center, virtually coached a youth soccer team and discovered a multitude of new hobbies, including bread making and sewing. This year, she hopes to get involved in intramural sports and volunteer through Cornell Tradition.



Aminat Ibrahim

Aminat Ibrahim is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering studying how to reduce thrombosis on implantable cardiovascular devices. In Nigeria, she worked with AXA as a Business transformation analyst and BASF as a graduate intern. Quite recently, she co-founded a start-up that was among the first responders to the COVID-19 pandemic by developing face shields for health workers in Lagos, Nigeria. On-campus, she is the mentoring coordinator for BMEW. Aminat is big on advocating for underrepresented and minority groups; she enjoys hiking/site-seeing, volunteering, and meeting people.
