Meet Our Career Peer Advisors

Career Peer Advisors and Student Administrative Assistants serve a critical role in the Engineering Career Center. Our student employees welcome and direct students, employers, and visitors to appropriate resources; offer an invaluable student perspective needed to create effective programming and services, provide resume & cover letter critiques, and mock interviews, and so much more!

Grace Chung

Grace Chung

Human Biology, Health, and Society, with a minor in Policy Analysis, College of Human Ecology '21

Grace is a sophomore in the College of Human Ecology. Born and raised in Queens, New York, she plans to major in Human Biology, Health, and Society and minor in Policy Analysis and Management.  On campus, she is a brother in Alpha Phi Omega, a community service fraternity and a mentee in CURB (Cornell Undergraduate Research Board). Over the summer, she spent her time training to become an Emergency Medical  Technician in a NYC ambulance, hoping to gain different experiences before applying to medical school. In the office, you will find Grace at the front desk greeting visitors, assisting employers, answering questions, and directing students to resources. 

Ruchi Chitgopekar

Ruchi Chitgopekar 

College of Engineering '21

Ruchi is a sophomore in the College of Engineering and originally hails from the Chicago area. She plans on majoring in Chemical Engineering while pursuing a minor in English, her second love. On campus, Ruchi is a Cornell Tradition Fellow and the social chair of the Cornell Dressage Club. She spent this past summer as a quality control intern for a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company back home in Chicago, and looks forward to exploring the different career opportunities available in her field. You can find her in the office at the front desk, helping to connect students to a variety of resources, assisting employers, and greeting visitors.


Caroline Devin

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences ‘21

Caroline is a sophomore in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She was born and raised in Rockland County, New York and plans on majoring in environmental engineering. This past summer, Caroline worked with Technical Traffic Consultants as an international data entry specialist. On campus, she is an active member of Planned Parenthood Generation Action, Consent Ed Ambassadors, and enjoys doing volunteer service with the Cornell Tradition.


Jennifer Tasneem

B.A. in Chemistry, Mount Holyoke College '17, M.Sc.. in Materials Science, College of Engineering '19

Jennifer Tasneem is a second year Master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering. Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Mount Holyoke College in May 2017 with minors in Mathematics and Materials Science. Her interest in career advising began during her undergraduate years at Mount Holyoke where she was a Peer Career Advisor at the MHC Career Development Center. At Cornell, Jennifer conducts research in Professor Lara Estroff’s lab and works on developing functional nanocomposites under confinement. In the office, Jennifer assists graduate students, particularly the M.Eng and MPS student population, in navigating a wide variety of career resources and conducts resume and cover letter critiques as well as practice interviews. 


Myles Cherebin

College of Engineering '22

Myles is a sophomore in the College of Engineering. He is from Syracuse, New York and intends to major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and minor in Computer Science. On campus, Myles is an active member of Scholars Working Ambitiously to Graduate (S.W.A.G) and Under-represented Minorities in Computing (URMC). He is also the Treasurer of Cornell's National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) chapter.


Ching Pang

Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering '21

Ching in a junior in the College of Engineering. Originally from Hong Kong, she is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. This past summer, Ching worked with her project team, AguaClara, as the summer team lead while improving a gravity-powered ram pump. On campus, she is also an active brother in the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega and an active member in the Society of Women Engineers.


J.J. de Oliveira

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering '20

J.J. is a senior studying mechanical and aerospace engineering with an interest in design. This past summer he worked as an R&D engineering intern for Argon Medical Devices, a company outside of Dallas specializing in interventional radiology, interventional oncology, and vascular surgery. He loves learning and is curious about many subjects outside of engineering so he is always looking for new book or podcast suggestions! When he has free time he enjoys any outdoor pursuit from skydiving to snowboarding or participating in intramural sports here at Cornell such as soccer and basketball. 


Kelly Ernst

College of Engineering '22

Kelly is a sophomore in the College of Engineering from Glastonbury, Connecticut. She is planning on affiliating with Environmental Engineering and hopes to pursue a minor in Inequality Studies. Kelly is a member of Alternative Spring Breaks, and was a Trip Participant in the Tangelo Park trip last year. She also tutors at Ithaca High School through the STEP program with the Public Service Center, and she volunteers through Cornell Tradition. 


Deniz Tekant

Operations Research Engineering, College of Engineering '22

Deniz is a sophomore from Istanbul, Turkey in the College of Engineering intending to major in Operations Research. On-campus, she is an active member of the Cornell Rocketry Team, GreenClub, and Society of Women Engineers. She loves meeting new people, helping others, and learning new things. Outside of academics, she loves cute baby animals, food, and all kinds of sports. 


Avani Bhargava

Computer Science, College of Engineering '20

Avani is a senior majoring in Computer Science, and originally hails from New Jersey. On campus, she has served as Co-President of Women in Computing at Cornell (WICC), and currently serves as Musical Director for The Class Notes, Cornell's oldest existing co-ed a cappella group. She has worked at Facebook as a Software Engineer Intern for two summers, on the Instagram Shopping team and the Groups Integrity team. Prior to that, she worked as a Development Intern at a digital agency in Portland, Oregon during her freshman summer. In her free time, she enjoys surfing the web, arranging music, and drinking jelly milk tea.
