Important Update Regarding High School Outreach Programs
For many years, our High School Outreach Programs, which encompass our CATALYST and CURIE academies, have created meaningful opportunities for student exploration and growth, consistent with Cornell Engineering’s deeply rooted commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in STEM.
We are very proud of the impact and legacy of these important programs. Following a thorough review, we have identified options that would enable us to more efficiently advance our mission and significantly expand our outreach to future scholars and engineers. As we shift our focus and pursue new opportunities, we will not be offering our High School Outreach Programs, including CATALYST and CURIE, going forward.
We thank and celebrate all of the incredible youth, faculty, students, staff members, and donors who have participated in and contributed to our programs over the years. We look forward to continued collaboration and to exciting announcements regarding our next steps in 2026.
Our Commitments to the Community
We provide consultation on inclusive practice in college communities, including departments, programs, and research groups.
We center inclusion and excellence, creating and sustaining a learning environment in which all feel welcomed, challenged, inspired, and supported to achieve their greatest potential.
We proactively attract and maintain a community of scholars – undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty – who are prepared and empowered to succeed.
We propel the academic and professional development of new generations of engineers who are equipped to work and thrive in diverse teams as they develop innovative solutions to humanity’s grand challenges.
We facilitate student-centered, inclusive, collaborative, and experiential learning opportunities to improve learning outcomes, self-efficacy, and belonging among Cornell Engineering students.
We create efficiencies and partnerships and use continual assessment and evaluation to maximize resources for greater impact.
We employ evidence-based approaches in our programs, sharing and disseminating our models and findings within and beyond Cornell.
