What’s new at Cornell Engineering

Through a new collaboration with the Einhorn Center, Cornell Engineering will ensure that every undergraduate student in the college participates in community-engaged learning experiences that apply their technical skills to real-world community challenges.

A newly restructured, student-focused Office of Innovation and External Collaboration will prepare Cornell Engineering students for career success and provide a clear point of entry to industry partners and employers looking to engage with the college’s students and faculty.

Claudia Fischbach-Teschl, director of the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering, was appointed leader of Engineering Innovations in Medicine, an initiative to transform human health through data-driven innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Drawing on cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary expertise, researchers are launching Menopause Health Engineering, a new initiative to uncover how menopause shapes health and disease.

Reaffirming and extending Cornell Engineering’s longstanding commitment to providing a supportive learning environment for students of all backgrounds, the college announced a significant reorganization of its Office of Inclusive Excellence, including new leadership and a broader vision.

The software company is contributing $2 million each to Cornell’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning and Cornell Engineering to name and update “design and make” spaces.

With the largest gift from a Cornell Engineering alumna in the college’s history, Lisa Walker ’86 has established the Lisa L. Walker 1986 Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, creating an endowed professorship and accompanying research fund to support exceptional faculty.
