Undergraduates have helped me move projects forward from idea to concrete results that can then be used in proposals as well as to help complete research projects and co-author scientific publications.
Strategic Areas of Research
The College of Engineering is fully committed to the aspiration of the University to be a premier research institution. Research teams of students, postdoctoral associates, and faculty aim to address scientific and engineering challenges, stimulate innovation, and enhance transitions to industry. Our objectives are: a) advance science and engineering, b) address emerging societal challenges critical to the nation and the world and c) educate a new breed of interdisciplinary researchers prepared to assume leadership roles in academia and industry.

Cornell Engineering’s leadership in research is evident through its current roster of world-class faculty and researchers, as well as its Centers and Facilities. These Centers provide cutting-edge research infrastructure and serve as focal points for researchers from across the campus to collaborate on research, teaching and outreach. Current interdisciplinary Centers led by Engineering faculty include the Cornell Center on the Physics of Cancer Metabolism (PSOC), Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS), Center for Transportation, Environment and Community Health (CTECH), Cornell Nanofabrication Facility (CNF), Energy Institute, Platform for the Accelerated Realization, Analysis and Discovery of Interface Materials (Paradim), Kavli Institute at Cornell for Nanoscale Science (KIC), MSK-Cornell Center for Translation of Cancer Nanomedicine, Upstate New York i-Core Node.
