Parents and Families Information
Welcome to Cornell!
From the beginning of your student’s Cornell career they will find an invigorating and challenging world here on campus. The first year of college is the beginning of a new journey. There are greater responsibilities, increased opportunities, and more difficult challenges to face. Your relationship will evolve in new and sometimes surprising ways. Your student will become more independent, but still needs your guidance and support.
We are here to partner with you to help your student thrive. The resources provided here are designed for you to better support your student as they navigate the many decisions and opportunities of the first year. I also encourage you to visit these online resources:
- Families of New Students
- Cornell Health's "Especially for Parents & Guardians"
- Learning Strategies Center's "For Families"
- Resources for Families
- Cornell Engineering Orientation
Parents and families are also welcome to subscribe to The Sundial, our newsletter for undergraduate students, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
