Saturday, August 24th

2:00 PM - 3:15 PM: President’s Convocation • Schoellkopf Stadium

3:45 PM – 5:00 PM: Engineering Student Academic Briefings with Engineering Advising • Locations TBA

  • This includes the Academic Briefing for incoming Engineering transfer students and exchange students

3:45 PM – 5:00 PM: Informational Briefing for Families of New Engineering Students with Associate Deans • Barton Hall

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Engineering Light Dinner Reception and Major Information Fair for New Students, Families, Faculty, and Staff • Duffield Hall Atrium

 

Sunday, August 25th

9:00 AM: Engineering Mathematics Advanced Standing Exam • 155 Olin

  • This is an OPTIONAL advanced standing exam for Engineering and non-Engineering students who are seeking to earn credit for Math 1910: Calculus for Engineers and/or Math 1920: Multivariable Calculus for Engineers.
  • No formula sheets and no calculators allowed.
  • Students who have a score of “4” on the CollegeBoard Calculus BC exam are highly encouraged to take the CASE to ensure readiness if enrolled in Math 1920 for the fall.
  • Students should register for the exam by Saturday, August 24th.

1:00 PM: Computer Science Advanced Standing Exam for CS 1110: Intro to Computing Using Python • G01 Gates 

  • No registration required for this exam.

 

Monday, August 26th

9:00 AM – 2:30 PM: First-Year Student Group Meetings with Faculty Advisors

  • Times and Locations announced during Academic Briefings on Saturday

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Students See Faculty Advisors by Appointment • Faculty Offices • Individual meetings are scheduled during the Group Meeting.

4:00 PM: Chemistry Advanced Standing Exam for CHEM 2090: Engineering General Chemistry • 135 Baker Laboratory

  • No registration required for either of these exams.

 

Tuesday, August 27th

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Students See Faculty Advisors by Appointment • Faculty Offices • Individual meetings are scheduled during the Group Meeting on Monday.

9:00 AM: Physics Advanced Standing Exam for PHYS 1112: Mechanics and Heat and PHYS 2213: Electromagnetism • 203 Rockefeller Hall

  • Students must register for these exams.

9:00 AM – 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Drop-in Advising Hours • 180 Rhodes Hall 

4:00 PM: Chemistry Advanced Standing Exam for CHEM 2080: Engineering General Chemistry II • 135 Baker Laboratory
